Unlike many other charter companies, we do NOT mark up:
- The price of food
- The price of beverages
- The price of a chef mate
- The price of fuel
- The price of docks
Also, we do NOT use brokers, therefore a brokers commission is NOT built in which would add to the price you pay
Why we don’t quote “All inclusive” pricing.
Some charter groups quote an “all inclusive” price; you are left to believe that will mean a good deal for you… quite the opposite can be true. Here are some reasons why that is not the policy on StrayCat:
If we were to price along an all-inclusive model, logically, we would have to consider the group who would consume goods and services beyond the pale… but not the moderate group. It follows that All Inclusive pricing is padded to cover groups who come aboard and:
- Consume food in quantities well beyond what they might at home
- Drink lots of fine wine each day
- Take 30 minute hot showers twice a day
- Want to go to a dock every night
- want A/C twenty four seven
The bottom line is that “all-inclusive” almost certainly means “more expensive” for you. By quoting you the price of the boat only, then allowing you to tailor the costs of food, beverage and any extras to fit your tastes and budget, a vacation on StrayCat is once again a best buy.
Our “Competition”
There are charter vessels operating in the very same area as StrayCat charging more than double our price. Why would you pay that much more?
StrayCat is maintained to the very highest standards, and has all the modern conveniences and acoutrements to make your island vacation safe and pleasurable.
What about a Bareboat Charter? Wouldn’t that be cheaper?
$6,000 is what it costs to bareboat charter a similar vessel in the Bahamas. That is essentially a boat rental, no Captain/tour guide/mechanic/raconteur
Chartering with Capt. Mark is like getting the boat with a free Captain.
Shouldn’t I charter in the British Virgin Islands? Wouldn’t that be cheaper?
The BVIs have become synonymous with catamarans, and there’s a good reason for that stereotype. THEY ARE EVERYWHERE!! Around every corner, and in every harbor, there are a great number of Cats anchored up with charter guests or bareboat charter crews aboard. Will they party too loudly, run their generators all night, or buzz their dinghy around the harbor? Probably. And, you can bet that your vacation will be remarkably similar to theirs as every boat will visit the same spots in lemming-like procession.
Chartering with StrayCat in the Bahamas is quite different. The Exumas island chain is renowned around the world as having some of the most beautiful water and scenery in the world. Johnny Depp, Faith Hill and David Copperfield all chose to buy private islands in these waters for a good reason. On StrayCat, you’ll discover crystal clear water, idyllic anchorages and quiet beaches. We’ll take you off the beaten path, and let you enjoy the islands as they were meant to be experienced.
